VETS GWAC Contract Win

February 19, 2007 02:24 AM

February 2007 — Fulcrum IT is a member of the Metters team that was awarded the Veterans Technology Services (VETS) Governmentwide Acquisition Contract (GWAC). This small business set-aside contract for service-disabled veteran-owned (SDVO) technology firms is the result of Executive Order 13360 that is designed to strengthen federal contracting opportunities for SDVO firms.

VETS presents a new way for federal agencies to achieve small business goals through purchase of information technology solutions from small businesses owned by services-disabled veterans.

The period of performance is February 2, 2007, to February 1, 2012, with one five-year option.

The program ceiling is $5 billion within two functional scope areas: Systems Operations and Maintenance, and Information Systems Engineering.

The benefits of the VETS GWAC include federal agency assistance in meeting three percent goal for contracting with service-disabled veteran-owned firms, a contract that is pre-competed and easy to use, and a short procurement lead time with a low user fee.

According to Fulcrum IT Senior Vice President Len Kaplan, “The VETS GWAC and the Metters team should prove to be a convenient means of bringing new work to Fulcrum IT. It’s easy for the government to use and they get SDVO credit for doing so. We know this contract will be a success.”
