Moving On Up: Fulcrum IT Services Ranks No. 1986 on this year’s Inc. 5000 list of Fastest-Growing Companies in America

New York, NY, August 21, 2012 — “Guts and Optimism: What it takes to make the 2012 list.” For more than 30 years, Inc. has celebrated the fastest-growing private companies in America.

“To be honored this year is a particularly notable achievement”, Eric Schurenberg, (Editor in Chief, Inc. Magazine) stated in his announcement to the honorees. “To rank among the 2012 Inc. 5000, companies had to thrive through three of the toughest years this economy has seen in living memory. Their success in such times is eloquent testimony to their team’s creativity, resilience, and tenacity.”

Today Fulcrum IT Services (Fulcrum IT) was honored as one of the exclusive companies moving on up to rank number 1986 of the top 5000 and 270 in its industry.

Inc. Magazine’s Leigh Buchanan is quoted as stating, in her August article titled “No Time Like the Present,” “This entire Inc. 500 has survived and thrived through some very dark days. The honorees are tough and savvy, and their achievements remind us how good it feels to be moving fast, in the right direction. They embody a lesson that dates back even before Napoleon Hill—all the way to ancient Rome. Fortes fortuna adiuvat. Fortune favors the bold.”

America’s fastest growers span 25 industries, all 50 states, and metro areas ranging from Boston to San Diego. New York City had the most honorees, with 350—three more than runner-up Washington, D.C. While nearly half the winners had revenues between $2 million and $10 million, more than 50 took in over $1 billion.

Powerhouse Fulcrum IT joins Facebook, CDW, Intuit, and other notable alumni on this year’s list.

Fulcrum IT CEO Jeff Handy said, “We are honored to once again be recognized on this year’s Inc. 5000 list of Fastest Growing Companies in America. Rapid growth is always an achievement, but in a tough economy it especially validates the quality of solutions Fulcrum IT provides our clients.”

Methodology

The 2012 Inc. 500 is ranked according to percentage revenue growth when comparing 2008 to 2011. To qualify, companies must have been founded and generating revenue by March 31, 2008. Additionally, they had to be U.S.-based, privately held, for profit, and independent—not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies—as of December 31, 2010. (Since then, a number of companies on the list have gone public or been acquired.) The minimum revenue required for 2008 is $100,000; the minimum for 2011 is $2 million. As always, Inc. reserves the right to decline applicants for subjective reasons. Companies on the Inc. 500 are featured in Inc.’s September issue. They represent the top tier of the Inc. 5000, which can be found at www.inc.com/5000.
